Work that actually means something.

We're a young, active Western Sydney NDIS team looking for support workers who show up properly, care about people and want to build real relationships, not just fill shifts.

More than just a shift.

At Empower Care, our workers are part of something real. You'll be matched to participants you genuinely connect with, doing activities that are active and community-based, not sitting in a lounge room watching TV.

We work with young people, teens and adults across Western Sydney. Programs include group outings, camps, cooking, sports, social nights and more. 1:1 supports are personalised and goal-focused.

We're a small team that looks after our workers. You'll have direct access to the Directors, consistent participants and a clear structure. No guesswork about what's expected.

What's On Offer

  • Flexible hours — casual shifts, weekends and school holidays
  • Group programs — outings, camps, social nights with young people
  • 1:1 supports — consistent participants and personalised work
  • Competitive SCHADS Award rates
  • Direct leadership — you'll work closely with the Directors, not a remote manager
  • Real variety — no two days the same

Six things that matter to us.

01

You show up

On time, prepared and present. Every session, every time. Our participants count on consistency.

02

You actually care

This isn't just a job to pay the bills. You genuinely like spending time with people and helping them grow.

03

You're active

Our programs are out in the community. You'll be on your feet, doing things, not passive supervision.

04

You communicate

You'll flag issues early, reply to messages promptly and keep families and the team in the loop.

05

You take feedback

We give direct, honest feedback and expect workers to reflect and improve, same as we do ourselves.

06

You build belonging

You want participants to feel like they genuinely belong, not just tolerated, but welcomed.

How to get started with us.

We keep it straightforward. No drawn-out process. If you're the right fit, things move quickly.

01

Reach out

Send us an email or give us a call. Tell us a bit about yourself: your experience, what kind of work you're looking for and when you're available. We don't need a formal resume to start the conversation.

02

Quick chat with a Director

One of our Directors will give you a call. We'll learn more about you, tell you what's available and figure out whether it's a good fit for both sides. There is a formal meeting with a Director so we can get to know each other properly and make sure it's the right fit on both sides.

03

Checks and onboarding

We'll confirm you have (or help you get) the required clearances: NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and current first aid. We'll also run through our expectations, systems and participant introductions.

04

Training before you're ever alone with a participant

We don't throw anyone in the deep end. Before your first independent shift you'll go through a full training pathway so you feel confident, prepared and supported from day one.

  • Online training — modules covering NDIS practice standards, participant rights, incident reporting and duty of care, completed in your own time before you start
  • In-person training — a face-to-face session with the Directors covering our programs, how we work, communication expectations and what good support actually looks like at Empower
  • Multiple training shifts — you'll work alongside an experienced Empower worker across several sessions before flying solo, so you know the participants, the routines and the environment
  • Debrief after each training shift — we talk through what went well, what to watch for and answer any questions before you move to independent shifts

Only once you and the Directors both feel ready do you take on your own sessions. We check in regularly after that too. You're never left to figure things out on your own.

What you'll need before you start.

Essential Clearances

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check — required before working with any participant
  • Working with Children Check (NSW) — required for working with participants under 18
  • Current First Aid Certificate — HLTAID011 or equivalent

Don't have these yet? We can point you in the right direction and work around timelines while you get them sorted.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in disability, youth work or community services
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (or studying toward it)
  • Current driver's licence and access to a vehicle
  • First aid including CPR (updated within 12 months)

No formal qualifications? That's okay. We've brought on great workers without them. Attitude and reliability matter more.

Sounds like you? Let's talk.

Send us an email with a bit about yourself or give us a call. We'll get back to you quickly and take it from there.
